Fried Chicken Master – Blok M Plaza, Jakarta

Friday (23/08) was a happy day for Fried Chicken Master, as they held the grand opening for their first store in Jakarta, Indonesia. The brand itself was originated from Taiwan, and had opened in other countries too, such as Singapore.

Fried Chicken Master, Blok M, Jakarta

Located in Blok M Plaza, Jakarta Selatan, Fried Chicken Master serves ‘The Juiciest Chicken Ever’. Since the shopping mall was located next to the Blok M MRT Station, it was super easy to reach this fast food joint.

It’s on the LG level of Blok M Plaza

Fried Chicken Master – Blok M Plaza, Jakarta

It was only a few minutes walk to my office, so I decided to come here for dinner before going home. The restaurant was not very big, only 20-30 seats available.

The situation inside

No wide variation in the menu, so it’s easy to choose. They have fried chicken (breast, thigh, wings), flavored jimbos (looks like chicken kung-pao to me), fries, and fish cakes.

I tried the original Dada Love Cut (Rp38.000) and Paha Juicy (Rp38.000). The Dada Love Cut, or heart-shaped-chicken-breast, was coated in a thick batter. The size was amazingly HUGE. It was really crunchy on the outside, and tender on the inside. The downside? It doesn’t look like a heart. Hahaha.

For the Paha Juicy, or juicy-chicken-thigh, it was as juicy as it claimed. Love how tender the meat was when I cut it open! Sadly, it looked a bit too oily for me. Both fried chickens were well marinated and fried carefully! It also has this peppery-taste on the top, which makes it more fragrant~

My friend’s Jimbo Mala

As I searched on Google, Jimbo is Chinese translation for “Golden Treasure”. Square chopped thighs with 6 sauces. Of your choice. You can choose between original flavour, mala (extra spicy), thai (sweet-sour), or pesto (savoury). If you prefer more Indonesian taste, you can go with terasi (shrimp paste) or sambal pedas (spicy sambal).

Jimbo Thai – Rp35.000

On my first visit, I also ordered the Jimbo Thai (Rp35.000). It was THAT juicy, and the sauce was super good too! I was really happy. And on my second visit, I ordered the Jimbo Pesto (Rp35.000), it was more savoury than the Thai one. It goes really well if you eat it with warm white rice.

The second time I visited Fried Chicken Master, it was really crowded (around lunch time). My friends and I waited for around 30 minutes, I guess. It was something I had never experienced on a fast food outlet. Maybe because it’s their first week? Well, I don’t know.

Recommended? Or Not?

If you have extra patience for waiting you dish to come, I would say that I recommend every fast food lover to try Fried Chicken Master! They can claim as ‘The Juiciest Chicken Ever’, because it was that juicy! Although, I didn’t manage to try their side dishes (fries, etc).

My orders!
As big as my face!

The location was easy to reach, but I hope they can serve faster like any other fast food joint! Oh, please prepare your cash, as they don’t have debit or e-money payment machine (this is temporary, they are preparing it).
